PlanToSim Privacy Policy

Overview

PlanToSim ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information when you use our flight plan conversion service.

Information Collection and Use

What We DO NOT Collect

PlanToSim does not collect, store, or transmit:

• ✗ Personal information (name, email, phone number)
• ✗ Flight plan data or routes
• ✗ Location data
• ✗ Device identifiers
• ✗ Usage analytics or statistics
• ✗ Crash reports
• ✗ IP addresses
• ✗ Any other personally identifiable information

What Information Stays on Your Device

The following information is stored locally on your device only and never transmitted to external servers:

• ✓ X-Plane IP Address: The IP address you enter for connecting to X-Plane flight simulator
• ✓ Processing Options: Your navigator format preferences (GTN, GNS, TDS, X-Plane FMS toggles)
• ✓ Approach Conversion Settings: Your preferences for approach expansion
• ✓ First Launch Flag: Whether you've launched the app before

All this data:

• Remains on your device
• Is never transmitted to any server
• Can be deleted by deleting the app
• Is not accessible to the developer or any third party

Data Processing

Local Processing Only

All flight plan conversion happens entirely on your device:

1. Import: You share a flight plan file (PDF or .fpl) with PlanToSim
2. Processing: The app converts the flight plan using locally stored navigation data
3. Export: The converted flight plan is sent only to your X-Plane computer on your local network
4. No Cloud: No data is uploaded to any cloud service or external server

Navigation Database

The app includes a comprehensive navigation database (airports, waypoints, procedures) that is:

• Bundled with the app
• Stored locally on your device
• Sourced from public FAA and OurAirports data
• Used exclusively for flight plan conversion
• Never transmitted or shared

Network Connectivity

Local Network Only

PlanToSim uses network connectivity only for the following purpose:

• Connecting to X-Plane: The app connects to your X-Plane flight simulator on your local network (TCP port 5000) to transfer converted flight plans

Important:

• Connections are made only to the IP address you specify
• All communication stays within your local network
• No internet connectivity is required
• No data is sent to external servers
• The developer cannot access your network or data

Local Network Permission

When you first use PlanToSim, iOS will request permission to access your local network. This permission is required to:

• Find and connect to your X-Plane flight simulator
• Transfer converted flight plans

You can revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network → PlanToSim.

Third-Party Services

PlanToSim does not integrate with any third-party services, including:

• ✗ No analytics services (Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.)
• ✗ No crash reporting services
• ✗ No advertising networks
• ✗ No social media integrations
• ✗ No cloud storage services

Data Sharing

PlanToSim does not share any data with:

• The app developer
• Third parties
• Advertisers
• Analytics companies
• Other apps or services

The only data transmission is the converted flight plan sent directly from your device to your X-Plane computer on your local network.

Children's Privacy

PlanToSim does not knowingly collect any information from children or anyone else, as we don't collect any information at all. The app is suitable for all ages.

Data Security

Local Storage Security

Data stored on your device (X-Plane IP, preferences) is protected by:

• iOS security features (data protection, sandboxing)
• Device passcode/biometric authentication
• Encrypted device storage (when device encryption is enabled)

Network Security

Flight plan transfers to X-Plane use:

• Direct TCP connections on your local network
• Standard network security protocols
• No external internet exposure

Your Privacy Rights

Access to Your Data

Since all data stays on your device:

• You have full access to your settings within the app
• You can view and modify your X-Plane IP address anytime in Settings
• You can view and change processing options anytime

Deletion of Your Data

To delete all app data:

1. Delete App Data: Delete the PlanToSim app from your device
   • Settings → General → iPhone Storage → PlanToSim → Delete App
2. All local preferences and settings will be permanently removed

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

• We do not collect personal information
• We do not sell personal information
• We do not share personal information with third parties

European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• We do not process personal data
• We do not transfer data outside your device
• We do not engage in automated decision-making

Third-Party Data Sources

PlanToSim uses the following public data sources for navigation information:

• FAA CIFP: Instrument procedures (public domain)
• FAA NASR: Navigation facilities (public domain)
• OurAirports: Airport database (open data license)

These databases are:

• Downloaded by the developer during app development
• Bundled with the app
• Not transmitted or shared by the app
• Used exclusively for flight plan conversion

Important: This navigation data is for simulation use only and must not be used for real-world flight navigation.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted:

• In this document with an updated "Last Updated" date
• In the app (if major changes occur)

Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
